Wanda Sykes on Prop 8

Wanda Sykes was on Ellen today, I am told. On account of it being Halloween, she showed up dressed as a Wall Street man in a golden parachute.
Wanda talks to Ellen about Proposition 8 as well as race and gender.
Sykes' line worthy of mention: "The bible says Adam and Eve, it doesn't say Eve and Mary J. Blige."
So, the pumpkin today for funniest line of the week needs to go to Wanda Sykes, simply one of our best female stand-up acts!

Here it is:

Hadn't quite heard a discussion of Prop 8 from this angle, but I have to say I dug it!

In case you didn't catch the episode, Ellen's costume was supposed to be a million bucks.

Comedy is as good a medium as any to use to make a good point. I like Wanda. Esp. like her in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

"i never had to come out black."

i know other people mentioned this, but it's really true. coming out queer means a choice was made to accept discriminations that weren't upon the person the day before. being born black in this country, one lives with that discrimination from birth. neither is ideal nor should be acceptable.
