Here's Rachel Maddow on Leno. She discusses AIG, Wall Street, and as most everybody else these days, Rush.

She makes some good points. I wonder about her 'work' presentation and her other appearances. Why do the glasses go on her show? Keith still wears his....

A Rhodes scholar on TV is refreshing to see!
More PhD-ers should be commenting on the air.

More presences like Rachel would be greatly appreciated on cable news shows. She's solid.

Go, Rachel! She gets the importance of context. And the need for eloquence.
I like, too!

What I like about her compared to other political pundits is that her opinions are reasoned and logical. Leno makes a good point about how other politicos turn their shows into shouting matches. That basically means they don't know what the hell they're talking about, but if they say it forcefully enough, then you will have to concede that they are right. Politics doesn't have to be confusing if you just cut out the bullshit emotion and dogma, and Rachel does that pretty well.

And I love her shirt.

Right. As Sra notes, what sets her apart, is her ability to intelligently clothe her arguments with careful thought and astuteness.
A good addition to the air wave. for sure.

Articulate, informed and interesting in tone and manner. Yes, the voices of more PhD-ers and Rhodes Scholars and/or well educated folk with or without institutional bona fides would be refreshing.

Hmmm...who is it that Rachel reminds me of....thinking...thinking...anyone?

-Right. The fact that she layers her arguments with the right measure of logic and reason is what sets her apart. Which is really a no-brainer and it's the kind of model that needs to be used by all commentators, to start with.

-And, ah, thanks. What a nice thing to hear. And touche!
