How did you pick up on this? I saw it a few times and it makes sense now. But I had to see it a few times, first. Def. a solid example of homosociality. And the bit when Ari looks at him from the stairs and Vince is obviously thinking about him even though he's got Natasha, the model, nearby is just stupendous. Episode 7 is one of my favorites. It's full, full of gender examples.

It's pretty interesting how NOT ambiguous this is....
And, btw, Piven's delivery of the words to Vince is how it's done, Adrien Grenier.
Piven makes this scene.
Its moments like this that I like about this show. It's obnoxious and loud, at times, but the sensitive moments are spot-on.
Homosociality is depicted quite well here.
Like you I wasn't interested in investing any time in this show, but am starting to watch it due to Piven.
Ari is looking much more 'profi' in recent seasons. The first couple of seasons had good writing but not such good 'styles.'
