This Just Now: Colin Powell for Obama

Colin Powell, the former Republican Secretary of State (2001-2005), just announced to Tom Brokaw on Meet the Press that, after careful study of both candidates, is going to be voting for Sen. Obama.
Powell made it clear that he did not decide to vote for McCain even though the two have been close friends for 25 years or choose to vote for Obama because he is black. He said he made the personal decision after careful study of both candidates' platforms.

Interesting. Thinking people tend to make decisions based on substance. Facts, information, and intelligence are not a liability, they;re meant to help one make informed decisions.

Just watching Meet the Press right now and David Brooks of NY Times noted about Powell's decision to vote for Obama:
"They can regard him as a symptom of what's happening to the Republican party.... A lot of people who were Republicans feel they have been left out."

"This is not a liberal endorsement." "Sarah Palin's a major factor in Powell's decision."
Right, Powell's endorsement is huge, I think, and he is pretty center-right.
