Could the small amount of pant fabric actually be a message of minimalism? Could the days of big and lavish hobo-chicness a la Rachel Zoe have shifted to greener and more conservative pastures?

I've thought about this a bit. Minimalistic clothing seems reminiscent of a desire to cut down and be more frugal.

The circus-like looks a la Rachel Zoe are too much like a reminder of the good ol' times of prosperity a la 80's!
