If you don't like a movie, you can get your money back!

Nicholas Tabarrok, a Hollywood movie producer has come up with a notion which, I think, is pretty cool. The premise is:

If you don't like a movie, you can get your money back!

Simple as that.

As he observes:

"It occurred to me that this is a common thing... If you buy a product and you're not satisfied, you get your money back..."

I concur entirely.

Did the theater personnel cater to all the film goers who were not happy with the film? How can they tell who is sincere about their experience and who isn't?

ah yes, addendum...
Just thought of this. Vipul and I walked out of Once Upon a Time in Mexico a couple of summers ago and we didn't ask for a refund. We should have. I've only walked out of a movie once but next time will be sure to try this out. For some reason I seem to have this idealistic 'faith' in the medium and think that perhaps if I tough it out, the end won't disappoint me too royally. Oh wait, I also walked out of Harry Potter....
