New Book Recommendations

Philip Roth's Indignation. A particularly good choice if you travel. It could also be of interest to those of you who either live in or have experience of the Midwest.

Danny Goldberg’s “Bumping Into Geniuses.” Why read this? Well, it's about great encounters with music giants. Regardless of the quoted performers' genres, this will prove to be a good addition to your libraries.

A NY Times review about Goldberg's book - the particular bit is about Kurt Cobain- contains the following:

“Kurt had a mystical and powerful connection with the audience that took my breath away. … I realized that Kurt Cobain was not just a smart, quirky rock artist but also a true genius.” Perhaps. But like many of the musicians, executives and industry grunts we bump into in Goldberg’s lively pages, Cobain was something more essential to the business — and the art — of rock n’ roll than a genius. He was a professional."
